On my way home through the mountains last Easter weekend, Mika and I spotted through a thicket a stream that filled a pond. Right next to it was a pull out, and I took it. We crept though the forest on a path and found a flock of swans. I've only ever seen Swans once or twice in my life in the wild. It was so cool to see. Everything was so still, and the sun was shinning making the last of the white snow glisten and the water sparkle. It was a good moment for Mika and I to share. The birds made her SO happy, she was grinning ear to ear and had all kinds of questions. We sat and watched them for about 20 minutes. The flock you see here swam right by us, then flew to the rest across the way, where there were about 70 swans and maybe 10 or 15 geese. The whole experience was a little surreal and a lot magical. Even Mika picked up on that, saying we were in a magic place. Kids are so smart *wink*.
